    Lacey sprained/strained her hip :(

As if it isn't bad enough she has a bad leg, the one she had two knee surgeries on last fall, she sprained her hip yesterday, on her good leg! I took her to the vet today. I was thinking the worst, another ligament! At least it wasn't that!
The vet has her on 5 days of Rimadyl and bed rest, yippe, more trying to keep Lacey quiet! I do believe I'll keep her restrained a bit longer than that.
Oh,the way she did it, simply turning in circles all excited when her daddy got home from work last night. The problem is her bad leg isn't that strong and the good leg tends to take more of the weight.
Lacey would appreciate it if anyone could spare some pawsitive thoughts or a prayer for her to get better...

Aww, poor Lacey. Hope she feels better soon.

How old is she..sorry, I can't remember! My Sleet has started pulling her ankle tendons occasionally doing the same thing--bouncing around like a puppy, except she's 12. Her mind thinks she can do the same things she's always done, her body disagrees!

    Thanks Roxyluv...

Glacier, Lacey turned 5 in July. She tore her ligaments right after she turned 4. She also has some arthritis. She is what I call spastic, it's a miracle she hasn't hurt herself more than she has!

    Lue

I am so glad Laceys surgery went well, give her lots of kisses from me.

On Friday Lue starting limping and holding up his back leg. I called the Vet and he has an apt. for tomorrow, but the Vet said with his age (10 months old) it could be growning pains, and might be treatable with medicine. I surley hope so. Luthor is a long hair german shepard and as I read some german sharpards tend to have hip problems, I hope that's not the case here. He has been sticking under me like glue, and I just been loving him all up, he likes that.

I have two rescue labs that both had problems. Hokie, my almost two year old, tested positive for heart worms so we went through the whole treatment with him and had to keep him as calm as possible. Not an easy task with two Labs, but this past summer was hot and they both chose to stay in the air conditioning with me. The treatment was successful and he is heart worm free and feeling fine. Sam, my almost 1 year old, had a congenital eye deformity that had to be corrected. He had surgery and we fashioned a bucket to put on his head and protect his eyes. He is now doing fine.
I am in my second year of retirement and my days are spent with my dogs who are in and out of the house all day long. They are the light of my life and I don't know what I'd do with out them.
I hope you soon find out what the problem is with your dog's leg. It could be that muscles were strained and the knee joint is slipping out of place.
    Good Luck!
