Read how Lily behaved at the vet's yesterday

I had to take Lily to the white coats yesterday because she's constipated. When I came home from work yesterday and picked her up, she even seemed to be in pain, and her belly didn't feel as soft as usual, so I called my vet and asked her if I could still bring Lily (her office had already closed for the weekend).

It's usually Luna who's seeing the vet, so Lily doesn't have very much vet experience.

Anyway, she stepped out of her carrier without hesitating and was a good girl while her tummy was examined. In fact, the vet agreed that her abdomen felt a bit hard, but so far, there's nothing to worry, and it wasn't bad enough for an enema (clyster). When Luna had diarrhea from her antibiotics a while ago, she got Hill's i/d, and Lily ate that, too, which probably caused her constipation. The vet gave me oil capsules to add to Lily's food, and Hill's r/d.

While I talked to my vet, Lily jumped down the table and walked into the xray room, where she climbed the xray machine. And all the time, she talked and yelled at us. When Luna is at the vet's, she's very silent, but Lily showed no fear and let us know that she wasn't amused to have been brought to that place. She was so funny! LOL

    What? No pictures??!!!

Good for Lily! None of our cats are very great at the vet. Although Jessica remains the only one to have bitten the vet, hubby and me, in one fluid movement of her head, the others are scared too.

That's good she had such a positive experience. If she ever has to go back she'll have fun memories!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

I love my precious kittens and I hope they have long and happy lives filled with love.

Cats and dogs arent pets, theyre family members that need the same respect as humans. Would you dump your children out in the countryside to fend for themselves??

    Lily at the vet

The mental vision of Lily climbing up the x-ray machine is hysterical, must have really been something to see. Maybe now that she has had a chance to check things out for herself, it will be easier to get her to the vet. Good girl, Lily! Scritchies and tummy rubs just for you!

    Well, that's true! LOL

BTW, it turned out that she NOT a good girl when it comes to taking meds! She doesn't like it at all, and she won't open her mouth one bit.

Haha, sounds strangely familiar - that's exactly what Jade does...if she hasn't read my mind and hid under the bed first, that is (Somehow she just always KNOWS what's up the second I'm thinking "it's medicine time")

Wow, a cat that actually LIKES to visit the vet's!

All 3 of ours get really scared, start to shed a lot, and don't move a muscle, unless it is time to get back into the carrier to go home, then they move with lightening speed! I think it all has a lot to do with the smell there.

We also try not to mention the word "vet" the day of thier appointments.....I swear they can understand that word and when its time for us to go, they all run and hide!

Have you ever tired to pull a 20 pound cat from under a couch that doesn't want to move??!!!
