    Brookfield ZOO *PICS*

When my dad was in town we went to the other zoo last Monday. I say it was the real Christmas, I love the season up untill Christmas day where everyone is running on little sleep and we all become greedy, and I cry every year.
But that day there were probably a thousand trees all lit up and decorated along the pathways and it was slightly raining, cold, and very few people were there. I got to spend some very good quality time with my dad.
Zoos have always been a very special place for me, probably because every time I see my dad we go to a zoo.
I put the species names of some that you might not have known

    More comming

    Lit up sign

Rather gross yet beautiful sculpture of a lion killing a snake, I think an original from the opening in the 30s

    Delicate melting ice sculpture

Sorry, there would have been more animals but we had limited time, we only say the Fragile Desert, Fragile Rainforest, Dolphins, and Swamp, the other animals we saw on our walk out but it was raining except for when we were by the mt. goats
I hope you guys enjoyed them!

Chrissy, do you go to the Lincoln Park a lot? I read in my history of the LP zoo (The Ark in the Park, excelent book, btw) that two people standing in just the right places on either side inside the Lion House can whisper to eachother because of the cool architecture! I REALLY want to try that, only zoo freaks like my dad and I would really spend all day doing that!

I think I've probably been to Lincoln Park more than Brookfield Zoo.

Thats so neat! My dad and I would probably spend all day trying to figure that out, too. I'll have to look for that book.
