I need some advice or knowledge.

Hello all! I'm in much need for some advice. My flame point siamese cat, Pippin has suddenly been vomiting since Saturday night off and on and it's mostly liquid without a lot of food in it, so I'm not sure if it's the new food, Felidae, causing it or what. I had been mixing the Iams and Felidae to get him used to it and Friday was the first bowl of just Felidae. (I wanted to switch him after hearing that Iams was doing pet testing on animals.) His eye is red and he can barely keep it open. Could this be a hairball or allergies? I've had many cats and have never experienced this. Please help or lead me to some help. I'm a single Mom and I don't have a lot of money for a vet bill, but I think he needs to be looked at. I feel so bad for him, because he can't open his eye all of the way and he seems to not be feeling very good either. I thought maybe it was allergies b/c he did go out onto the patio (I'm upstairs) the other day which is odd. He could usually care less about the outside world. Maybe he needs allergy medicine? I'm just worried about him and I'm trying to figure out what the problem is, but I'm no doctor of course. He also has very stinky diarrhea. Yesterday, the vomit was pinkish and now I'm worried it's blood. My son is so worried, too. They are very close. I emailed the lady with the shelter I adopted him from and she said this:

"I am not sure but he prob. just has a cold or something or allergies for the eye but I'm not sure but for the vomiting if it does not have blood and is moslty liquid then it is prob a hair ball or the food may be to rich. Go back to the 50 50 mix and see if that helps. Keep eye clean and monitor it if it gets worse then he may need to see a vet."

    What do ya'll think???

Do you have plants in your house?? If so, look to see if there are chew marks on some of the leaves. It could be that he ate a plant and his stomach is upset.

You did the right thing in gradually introducing new food to him, so I don't think that's it. A vet visit might only cost about $50 and I think it's necessary.

Hmmm. I know that alot of vomiting can cause the throat to be irritated, and that can make the vomit appear pink- tinged with blood. BUT, that to me sounds like the lesser of the problems right now. Vomiting AND diahrea is a diaster for dehydration. A icky eye to top it off? I think there are way too many issues here to rule out anything as simple as a food allergy. I would take him to a vet immediately.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Poor Pippin. Yes, I agree that he should be seen by a vet asap. You don't want him to become dehydrated and having diarrhea and also vomiting will cause this. I sure hope that it's nothing serious and that he feels better soon. Please continue to keep us updated about him.

My Starr is also a Flame Point Siamese Mix and he's also had a lot of health problems in his short life of only 8 months.
