    A rather delicate question.........

Most of you are aware MAXIMUS just had his important
surgery. Well, I was always told that when a male is
neutered, his goods are basically "chopped off". It looks
as if his goods were only removed not chopped. Let me
be a little more clear. He still looks as though he may be
intact. His more than obvious pouch is now just only half the
size it was. Is it just the vets choice as to how it's done?
Or is it possibly my question to Dr. Moon, "Is he going to
look really weird afterwards?" Because he always has been
SO obvious. I am refraining from taking photos to show you.
It really doesn't matter, really. I was just courious. Just
kinda suprised. He still looks mostly normal, not just 'gone'.
Just wanted some of your opinions and/or experience. I
know there have been alot of the neutering business going
    on at PT lately.

LOL, to answer your question, only the testicles are removed, not the skin around them. So, the skin is still there and it was probably a little bit stretched out so it's kind of loose. The skin will probably tighten back up a little, so it's not as noticable.

As others have said it will tightened up some.
I did not have that problem with ROcky, his testicles never fully developed.
Soon after he was neutered his skin became flat as a pancake.

I would have never known the answer to that question! Interesting!

Spot is the only male dog I have had, and he was neutered as a puppy. we didn't adopt him until he was 2 1/2.

With time, the skin will tighten up and the pouch will no longer be visible as much.
Frankie was neutered last month and his skin has already tightened up.

LOL So funny you would ask this because it's one of the things I asked the vet when Bon went to get his stitches out. As of now he still has a little sack there but it's slowly going away.
Angus was also like that and over time it shrank right up and you could never even tell it was there

How old is he? When dogs are neutered later in life the sack doesn't always go away. My dog Buttons was neutered at 7 and his never went away. However, dogs neutered earlier in life will most likely have their sack dissapear over time. The sooner they're neutered, the faster it will go away. Make sense?

LOL what an odd subject :/

Finn still has a tiny bit of the sack left. It's annoying. But, that's ok. I still have hope that it will completely disappear, but, for now, it's still there a tiny bit.
