    frankie is sick

Frankie has diahrea. H's had it for a few days now.
I will call the vet monday. I hope he's ok. When I brought him to the vet last week I told them his stool was loose and they said that it probably was due to the change in home, water and food. I don't think it's normal for it to still be watery after a week. He's been drinking a lot too.

aww, get well soon Frankie! Sick puppies are soo sad, is he acting lethargic at all?

You should ask your vet if you can give him some Pepto or pumpkin to help his stomach settle ^_~

you know, I usually give Beenie Pepto when her tummy is funny. I'll try giving Frankie a drop or two in the morning. Thanks.
He is not lethargic at all. He has been super active. I haven't had any time to post on PT since last week trying to keep up with him hehehehe

Assuming Frankie is not a Collie or

Collie mix then Imodium A/D should get rid of the diarrhea- children's dosage.

Have the Vet screen for fecal parasites be it worms or protozoa.

It can take up to two weeks for his tummy to agree with his new food. I hope the vet doesn't find anything wrong. Try feeding him what the breeder fed him along with his new food.

Frankie is a Boston Terrier. They screened for parasites. Found none.
He is better today with the pepto I gave him. Not perfect poops but more solid than yesterday.

The vet told me the same thing.

We did not get Frankie from a breeder but from an old lady who couldn't handle all the puppies. I don't think she fed him puppy food. I was told they gave him adult dog food (unbelievable). I do think he needs to get used to puppy food (richer) and to the different water. He may also be stressed from the new home environment.

I just *met* Frankie in your other thread and am sorry to read about his tummy problems. Switching foods can often cause temporary upsets. Bella, Ripley and I hope he is feeling a little better today.

Took some poops to the vet yesterday to have them checked out.
He has an overgrowth of bacteria in his intestines. They gave him an antibiotic and anti diahrreal. I think it's working. He seems to be better.
    Thanks for your concern.

We finally had a normal poop yesterday. I had to take him to the vets again on Friday. They gave him a special diet and different medicine. I think it may be working. They think he's allergic to chicken and chicken products.... poor thing. He may out grow it.
