If there is something I missed feel free to post it. I like smooth coats and extra long coats. Hairless dogs are adorable but sometimes their skin colour is creepy. I really don't like pet clips on dogs though I understand they are convenient and easy.

I love the wire hair. Now that I have the Collies, with short hair, that sheds everywhere, I really appreciate the wire hair of my Cairn Terriers. Low Maintenance, Low Shedding and I love the scruffy look.

I have three smooth coated dogs and two short haired...the JRTs get cold too easily so I voted short hair, minimal grooming and low maintenance

well until I got Misty I did nit like smooth at all, the longer hair the better, but after Misty I LOVE smooth WAY better then long and the shorter the better lol I even keep Happys long hair clipped short. I dont like wire just because I dont like the feel of it, Perky's coat is partially wire(like some of it is smooth and some is wire lol) I dont like the wire part, it feels weird to touch, ane is h*ll to groom because she sheds like you would not believe but the ONLY way it comes out is stripping. so I like smooth and soft best

I'm sorry, but I can NOT stand smooth coats. I hate it! That said, I wub my Gissie, but long fur is just another reason why I love Borzois and Silken Windhounds. As for my favorite coat type:

    Need I say more?

Edited: I agree IRescue. I don't like pet clips, which is why I would rather forfeit my weekends for grooming my dog than give him a pet clip.

I like long double coated coats the most. My favourite dogs to groom at work are the ones that take forever to brush out because of all that hair.

Visa has a medium double coat, but because she isn't spayed, she doesn't keep her undercoat, so she doesn't even need to be brushed. My catahoula will have a very tight smooth short coat. That's alright.

I prefer the medium to long (but not too long) double coat, I love grooming them. I also like the Corgi's and Rottie's short double coat. I do like the smooth appearance (Dalmatians & Vizslas) but there's pretty much no grooming to them so that's a disadvantage...lol

I prefer short & smooth fur. Medium fur is okay, too. I don't really like long fur all that much.

Of course, any dog is welcome in my heart, short fur, purple fur, long fur, even smelly fur.
