    red eyes

sometimes when sammy, looks up at me his white around his eyes are kinda red. i know cockers get cherry eye, so i was wondering if thats the beginning of cherry eye? but he is only 13 or 14 weeks so that would be kinda young to get cherry eye...

I'm no expert on dogs but it could just be the skin around his eye. we have reddish skin around our eyes, could be the same for dogs.

Cherry eye is when the third eyelid, in the corner of the eye (closest to their nose) detaches from its regular position. Our Cincy had this on both eyes, the first when she was 12 weeks old, which was surgically reattached, and the other eye when she was 16 weeks old, and that eyelid was removed.

I don't have any close-up pictures on the computer of Cincy's eye. Here is the best I could find

If just the whites are red, that could just be normal or could be irritated by allergies or something in the eye (dust, a piece of fur, etc).

If it was cherry eye, you would know

    red eye

He may have conjunctivitis (an infection of the eye). Cockers especially can get this. He also might have glaucoma, which is very serious. If he is acting like his eyes hurt and squinting, he should go to the vet immeditely (if it is glaucoma, it needs to be treated urgently). If not, and it stays red or if there is any discharge, he should go to the vet and maybe get some antibiotic ointment. My cocker (ECS) has had this and the antibiotic/steroid ointment clears it up quickly.

    Good Luck!

Well his eyes are never bothered by it, that I can see. What do you mean by discharge? Because he's got tear marks and stuff by his eyes. But I thought that was normal.

Tear marks are normal; gooey or gunky green discharge is what they're referring to
