    Yummy! Dogs with bones pics..

The huskies were treated to a feast of moose bones today. It's very handy when the butcher lives down the road! All the dog food freezers are almost full now and everyone is happily munching away outside on bones:

Pingo stood guard over her bone. You never know, I might have wanted to steal it from her!

Preacher may be old and blind, but he knows what to do with a bone!

Ozzy tried to stand on his head to eat his.

Then he remembered that laying down is much easier!

Chum was actually quiet while he chewed. He must still be chewing cuz he's still quiet. That's almost a miracle!

Muskwa took his under a dog house and he won't come out!

Delta thinks bones are lip licking good!

My new favorite pic of Hobo:

Do you think he enjoyed his bone?

    Lucky dogs!

The shelties have never had moose so they are hitch-hiking their way up to you.... lol Maybe you could hitch them up to a baby sled??

That picture of Hobo is pure happiness. YUM! And Ozzy made me laugh. They sure did like their bones. That Pingo sure is a pretty girl, isn't she?

Awesome! I need to find a place to get bones like that for Finn. I feed him chicken with the bones, just because they're soft and small enough that he's able to safely chew and pass them...but, I don't usually let him eat the bone on pork when I feed him that, just because those bones don't stay in big pieces but he can't really chew or pass them...I need to get him some big beef bones to gnaw on. I love watching him chew on them! Your pups look so happy!

I do indeed believe they liked their treat. That is a pure look of satisfaction from those pups.

They still aren't finished! There are bones all over the yard today and they are still chewing quite a bit. I think Pingo has three or four bones in her house now--all mixed in with her fresh straw!

Great pics. I couldn't show these to my dogs or they'd get jealous.

Do yours ever fight over the bones?

Not very often. They are used to eating together. There's some growling and posturing. I did tie Heyoka up to eat his and put Deuce in his own pen. They would both try to steal the other dogs bones and that could lead to troubl!

They do fight occasionally, but it's usually hard to figure out what started it! It's never as simple as he took my bone, so I had to bite him!

Now that's a bunch of happy dogs! I love that one of Hobo, too. I also like the one of Ozzy standing on his head. I'll bet they love the fact that you live so close to a meat market. They'll be happy all winter.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.
