My Friends Cat Needs Prayers

Hi, my friend called me today at work and her cat Emma is very sick. Some of you might remember that she's the same woman who had to put her Joey to sleep last year on Oct.9th because he had FIP. Emma had tested positive for the corona virus but was very healthy last year. She's a very petite cat and is just a little over 7lbs and eats very little normally.

On Friday, she stopped eating and drinking so she called her vet and was told to bring her in on Sat. Her temperature was almost 105 degrees and her eyes were also jaundiced. She's now force feeding her and giving her sub-q fluids. The vet's hoping that this isn't a form of FIP. Her abdomin isn't filled with fluid but she could have the dry type of FIP. She needs lots of prayers and positive thoughts because if she goes down hill, my friend said that she's already prepared to put her to sleep because she doesn't want her to suffer. She has 3 other cats and hopefully they'll remain healthy. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Here's an update on Emma from her meowmie:
Dear Tracey and Friends,
This made me cry....AGAIN! Thank you, you are so sweet! I appreciate your support and the support of all the friends we have not met yet. Last night her temp was 105.4, this morning it is 104.3. Mommy's NEVER give up and I pray that little Emma gets stronger. She is still not interested in food so I am continuing to force feed her. I did an okay job with my first sub-q hydration but I am NO Dr. Rosato......again I will NOT give up!
If love and determination can cure, she will be FINE and healthy and playing with her siblings soon.

Come on Emma, you can do it!

Julie, as long as she's hydrated and fed, there's a really good chance she'll survive - in my opinion anyway. Once the fever comes down she'll probably start feeling better and start eating on her own, but it's so important to keep food in them in the meantime.
