?? about traveling with a dog

Does anyone know if states require any vet records to be carried with you if your crossing through them? I'm heading up to Colorodo on a 2 week vacation and taking Hunter with me. He's fine in the car (we've done 8 hour trips before), and I know to bring along food, water, dishes, toys, leashes, treats. Anything else more seasoned travelers can recommend for a long trip?

    Thanks!

I don't believe any state requires this unless your dog got loose and/or bit someone. Otherwise, just keep them on a leash and you should be fine!! I've never had a problem traveling with my pets cross-state before!

I don't believe any states require, but I always carry along in their suitcases a copy of their papers anyhow.

we've never had any issue traveling within the states with our animals before. good idea to make sure his/her most recent rabi's (Sp) tag is attached to their collar, and a tag with your contact info on it.

I've traveled to several different states with my dogs and I've never had a National or State Park or Hotel ask for that info. I do make sure they're wearing their collars with ID and Rabies Tag.

I live in Colorado. We have taken the fur kids to some State parks. You dont have to show any kind of paper work on your dogs. Most of the parks do require that your dogs are on a 6 ft. leash. Thats about it. Have fun in Colorado! Is it your first visit to Colorado?

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

Thanks everyone! Hunter usually wears his collar which has an id, microchip and license (rabies) tag on it, so it sounds like I should be fine.

Jadapit, yes it's my first visit. My brother moved up to an area called Breckenridge (sp??) about a year ago so I thought I'd take a trip up before the snow hits. I'm from Southern California so I'm the first to admit I have no idea how to drive in snow!!
