I got rear ended on my way home!

I was just sitting at a light forever and all of a sudden I got rear ended. Not really hard but hard enough. I guess he was probably looking down and the car started to drift...I am not sure.

I told him lets pull over, I couldn't see more than a scratch on my bumper. He was young and had a girl in the car, he looked a bit scruffy but was polite and asked me if I was okay. I asked if they were okay. His license was bent.

I told him I'm okay, my car is okay and your both okay so lets not worry about it.

Did I do the right thing? I would hate to cause a problem over nothing.

Hopefully the good karma will come back to me.

I admire you. I know there are many people who would go bazerk over something so tiny. He was polite, you were polite, everyone was fine.... no reason starting something large over a tiny scratch that could happen anywhere.

Thanks Kay thats what I think too. When I first got my license I drove a big ford pickup with a huge bumper, this other teenager hit me with a small car...he could hardly open his door, his mother was screaming at him so I said don't worry about you have enough troubles so don't worry about me.

My dad was kind of ticked when I got home but there was nothing wrong with his truck so he calmed down, he was a softie.

I truly believe you do unto others how you want done to you, it doesn't always come back but thats okay.

That happened to me a couple of years ago. I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic and put on my brakes and the guy behind hit me. It was not hard and my bumper only endured a very tiny scratch and his was not damaged at all (we both had SUV's) I just let it go. Some things are just not worth the trouble.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
