    In The Bunny House

Well, yesterday I bought a rabbit cage at Orcsheln's with money that my Mom said I "maybe" could have, since she owed me $50 anyway. It took me 4 1/2 hours to assemble it. LOL. Anyway. My buns like it. I put their litter box in there, but now they sleep in it and poop and pee on the wire flooring, which I have cardboard underneath it. So I called my Mom last night and I told her about it and how long the rabbits had been in the house, since Monday. She said "You better have them outta there by the time we get home on Saturday because they are not meant to be in the house." That was the only reason she gave me. She didn't say why she didn't want them in the house. I mean I practically have my OWN living room down stairs and the only time my parents are down there is to do laundry or take a shower. And they don't stink because I clean their litter box like twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. They are hardly chew on furniture and electrical cords and they rarely shed, the only time chunks of fur is on the ground is because they pull mouth fulls of each other's fur out, lol. I'm willing to take care of them and buy everything they need. I don't see what the problem is. My Mom is just being a real bitch, pardon my french.

Sorry I didn't read this sooner. I sure hope they change their minds. In yesterday's Washington Post under "Pet Watch" (a weekly feature about arrests, rescues etc in the Washington DC area) they had a brief about an elementary schools "pet" bunny, which had a "safe" pen outside was found de-capitated by the school janitor. They suspect some sort of preditor animal, not human nasty brats. Oh please let your folks keep them inside, at least at night.......... Laurie

    Dear Meg
sorry to hear that your in the bunny house lol!

When I was about your age my mum didnt let me have rabbits either, only hamsters, fish and a cat. It has only been since I am an adult that I can have rabbits, because I live away from my mum. She said that they where to smelly and we didnt have a big house either.

Just think when you live away from your parents you can have as many animals as you like.

Yea...the weird thing is. My Mom won't LET me have a hampster, and I've always wanted one. She says it will get loose in the house and then she'll have to set mouse traps. She also says they remind her of mice, but a hampster doesn't look nothing like a mouse.
