Brock goes swimming - 14 PHOTOS

Brock has made a lot of progress in the swimming dept since I adopted him a year and a half ago. First he was afraid to get into the calm river at Marymoor dog park, then he got more adventurous and started jumping in off the rocky edge, and then he started swimming out and fetching a ball, even across to the opposite side of the river. Then when I moved this spring we started going to the other park more often, which has an area on the shore of Lake Washington (huge lake) and the water is almost always full of waves and very loud, like a beach. For a long time he was afraid of the waves and whenever one came at him he would jump/run out of the water. lol But one day I started throwing a ball out for him and he just got used to the waves, and he now swims out as far as I can throw the ball with the chuck it! He is right out there with all the crazy labs, except brock doesnt steal their tennis balls... We've been going swimming everytime we go to the dog park (few times a week) for the past couple months, and he LOVES it. Now for some photos:

throw the ball, mom. THROW IT.

    Im waiting!

    waaaay out there!

hes such a dork.. he doesnt want the other dogs to steal his ball, so instead of dropping the ball in front of me right at the shore, so I can grab it before another dog comes near, he carries it away to "hide" in a corner, or behind a rock lol and shakes off, then stands over the ball looking back at me like, "what are you waiting for??"

not sure why this photo is so much larger, but hes cute ^__^ this is his "crazy aussie" face

What great photos! They sure captured what a great time Brock had. I especially liked the last one. I was amazed at how many other dogs there were, too!

That really does look like a good time. Makes me want to go to the beach. The last picture isn't crazy at all, what a sweet, happy face that is.
