    Male cats fighting

I have 4 cats and 1 kitten. The oldest Waldo 6 (Male) Katie 8(female)
and Blackie 3 (male) Bella (female mother of new kitten Mia)

I am having a terrible time with Waldo and Blackie (both males) waldo attacks him every chance he gets. When Blackie first came about 8 months ago came from an abused home they got along fine.
I have to keep Blackie in the barn at night Waldo and the others (even the 3 month old kitten) chases him out of the house, One of them has to go and at this point it will be Blackie,

Any body have any suggestions, Blackie really is a good cat and I don't know why they all don't like him, it got worse since the kitten was born back in June.
Or is it becayse thy are both MALES

is Blackie neutered? If not it could be they are trying to protect the baby. If so it's probably determining pecking order. They have to work it out between them. If Blackie is unneutered then that is something that needs to be done.

It is definitly not because they are both males. Male cats get along very well with other males......that is, assuming the males are neutered and there is no female in heat.

So, ARE your males neutered? Since you obvously have a mom cat, is she now in heat?

Sometimes cats just don't like each other. Usually given enough space and time they will come to being civil. Is the fighting noise and slapping or is damage being done?

It is also possible that the cats are responding to some signal that the one is giving that is not "right" to them. It could be illness...sometimes cats will drive an ill member out of the colony, or it could be some breach in your cats' particular social order.

How do the others respond to him? Is it possible for you to interven by showing he is a valued member while still giving attention to the others? Has he ever been aggressive toward the kitten or females? That could cause it.

You might try reintroducing the males as if they were strangers. Good luck. I've always had multple nuetered male sin the household and usually strife can be resolved.

Are the fighting males both trying to be the alpha cat? I had a similar problem and it began affecting one of my cats health so I had to eventually give the other male cat back to his original rescue group. Hopefully they'll be able to resolve their problems and begin to get along. I've heard that usually males get along better in multiple cat households than females do but there are always exceptions to the rule. Good luck.

I just think they can't get along I have been doing this since January so I will give the rescure center a call today. Its not fair to any of them, to always be on guard.

    makes me sad...
