Whenever I go horseback riding in Sunriver, I always see horses with what seems like a little tattoo on there but. What are those called? Are they just a branding thing to know which stable they belong too? Or are they just for looks?

Yes I am sure it is a Branding mark from a branding iron & it is a way for the owner to ID their animals in case of theft.. I grew up on a ranch & we branded our horses & cattle..
