Strawberry~ my little licker...she just got hurt :(

Well I was just going to type this whole thread out with happy news about my new wonderful kitty Strawberry, and then I heard a "mew" and I went running into the room. She jumped on top of the rat cage and was bitten by one of my boys. It seems like it always takes them once, and it's always in the paw. I am already a nervous wreck tonight and just seeing her bleeding made me want to cry. Today at work I had to euthanize one of my rescue rats as it had a very large inoperable tumor. I cried for a great deal afterwards, and it was on my lunch break. I'm a little sensitive.

I cleaned the bite with some Chlorhexydine flush and applied some Vetroplocin on it as it's the only antibiotic ointment I have on hand right now. Tomorrow I will take her into work just to make sure everything is OK. I have a bandaid on it covered with some brown tape, LOL, but she isn't minding it much and it's doing the job. I cannot for the life of me find my vet wrap. So please say a prayer she isn't too uncomfortable. I love this little girl to pieces. She reminds me so much of my Lucky (that's how I got my user name) as she is very loving, loves giving kisses, and is very cuddly. She's my little lovebot. BTW, she's a Bengal Siamese mix.

Here are some photos of her. I don't know why I named her strawberry... probably because I thought the color pink/red would look good on her.

    Showing off her pretty eyes.

Modeling her new puppy collar, as her neck was too small for a kitten collar. Plus, the puppy collars are so much cuter!

Haha, within the first hour Josephine was in the house she learned not to mess with the rats. She insisted at batting at their tails, and Ari (the least tolerant of the three) bit one of her toes. She threw a fit, but after washing it out real good and sticking a little neosporon on the wound. I did freak out a little bit. She was getting check up at the vet in a couple days and I asked her to take a look and thankfully the cut looked clean.

Here's her pawsie. It's much better now though. Thanks for the well wishes. She's tearing up the house like usual again.

Our cats look similar and we both have rats. We're awesome! hehe

She doesn't mess with the rats at all. In fact, she's terrified of even my 3 week olds. She just happened to jump onto the boys cage before getting onto the window sill. Now, I'm just waiting for Tony, Cherry, and Cotton to learn their lessons as well. LOL!

She's so pretty Cass! Where did you find her?

I'm sorry about her little paw...maybe that'll be her "stay away from the ratties" lesson.

So cute!! Welcome to PT, Strawberry!!

A breeder dropped her off at my work as she has a weird spinal problem. Their loss.

Strawberry sure is a cutie pie and reminds me of my Pearl a little bit. I hope her paw heals quickly and that she feels better soon. My Pearl is a lynx point siamese.
