Nigella, the Edster and me.

I am dreaming about being in the kitchen
Just Nigella and me It's totally bitching!
The temp is rising, It's getting quite hot.
When we lock eyes, over that boiling pot.

A clickety-clack invades my dreams.
"this ain't fair!", I want to scream..
I know that sound, shivers it's a giving.
It's the sound I make for a living!

There is a new cat toy in my house-
It's not a CPU or the computer mouse!
It's the area where the computer keyboard is stored
It's the Edster scratching on my keyboard!

He lays across the whole darn thing,
And then the claws he starts to bring...
Can he really type that quickly?
The fast sound of keys makes me feel sickly.

There goes the ENTER in the air...
DELETE AND INSERT under the chair...
SHIFT a key onto he desk..
"HEY THERE EDDIE, Give it a REST!!"

AMPERSAND, BACKSLASH go for a ride!
PAGE UP has decided somewhere to hide...
I struggle from under the bliss of my dream.
"DON'T DO THAT!!" From my bed I scream..

I hear a slight PAUSE. Is it all done?
No it's the cats PAWS clawing for fun.
Ears flipped back, as he takes stock,
On to the other side, LOOK OUT CAPS LOCK!!

It's a great ESCAPE for the TAB key.
I'm out of my bed, Ed's looking at me.
I thought that I'd prove to you, it ain't no hype.
"Look at me dad! The Edster can type!!"

I race to the table to rescue what's left
Of that poor keyboard, under his heft...
Keys on the floor and on the desk top
Edward now lives with a really pissed off pop!

The Edster retreats! Dad is so scary, OH!
Will he find refuge, atop the stereo?
More electronics, upon which my dad fawns..
Give me a second, I'll turn this thing on!

Nigella's long gone, now that I'm awake
How much more of the Edster can I take?
One night I know, in my dreams I will hear-
Rock and roll radio, or commercials for beer!

A Rolling Stones song, Or a tune from The Platters?
At this point I don't think it matters.
As long as I live with this nocturnal pest,
I'll just have to learn to savor my rest!

One night I know that I'll be asleep in my bed.
And I'll awake with a serenade started by ED!
My cat is sly and a very clever fella..
I just want to know why he hates Nigella!!!

COOKING,IN THE KITCHEN,WITH NIGELLA,IS PROBABLY SOMETHING,THAT HAS OCCURED,TO A LOT,OF FELLOWS.
MY FAVORITE,ON THE FOOD CHANNEL,IS RACHEL RAY,AS SHE KNOWS WHERE,TO EAT WELL,ON 40 DOLLARS A DAY.
AND I THINK,THAT SHE,IS A CAT PERSON,TOO,SO SHE WOULD LOVE EDDIE.
