cat is puking yellow liquid and his stomach is really big

he stomach is really hard and he is puking up yellow liquid. It just started this morning. He was chewing on a white string thing for scrapbooking last night, but I did not see where he swallowed anything. He likes to chew plastic, but I don't think he got any recently. My brother left the plastic from a newspaper out a few days ago, but he is just now showing problems :/ Anyone have any idea?

first and foremost. He needs to see a vet A.S.A.P.

To the vet! Something could be stuck in his digestive tract, and this could be serious!

I'll third the vet comment! My cat Tuna swallowed a piece of plastic that to this day I don't know where it came from. The sooner you get kitty to the vet, the sooner they can find out what's wrong, and the easier time the vet willl have to remedy the problem.

    hi and welcome.

how big was the plastic piece was? do you know? if the clump of plastic not bigger than a tennis ball, sometimes your cat would be lucky, having it come out by his "rear".

are you sure about "hard" tummy? cats often have that after they don't bath themselves, for the cases of stomatitis and heartworm mostly. but heartworm wouldn't cause yellow "bile". did you check your tuna's mouth too?

otherwise, if those questions are too much for you...take him to vet just to be sure! good luck.

Well he does not have anything stuck, it may be an infection of some sort because his bladder is small really dehydrated and they game him liquids. hopefully the family vet will know what to do * the emergenct care is way too expensive, and they said he could wait the 4 hours if they gave him the fluids.

Poor baby!! Please let us know what the vet has to say. Emergency vets are rather expensive. At least the fluids will help him until then.

Thanks so much kittycats_delight for the beautiful siggy and avatar of my kids!

He is with the vet right now. I really hope they can do something. I have two cats Abbott and Costello. Abbott is the sick one.

they had to put him to sleep . He was really bad, so they said it was the best thing I guess. But how can I have Costello without Abbott? Atleast he had a good life. He was a stray we got off the side of the road. 2 1/2 years old.

    I'm so sorry!

Poor little Abbott... I lost a cat this suddenly in March 05 - it was so sudden. She stopped eating one day and it turned out to be a terminal condition. Sometimes it hurts worse to have no warning, no time to say goodbye, but the suffering is brief. Give your love to Costello and never forget!
