    Does anybody else...

work overnight??? I work 7pm-7am, yep a nice 12 hours and sometimes the time just drags and drags. Anyone else work overnight and how do you function? It takes me a day to get back to normal when I am off.

My husband is working that right now. He is working 7pm-7am for 7 days straight. He works shift work and last trick is always the hardest for him to adjust too.

So not to many people work these kind of hours? I average maybe 6-7 hours of sleep a night. I work the 12 hours and sometimes 13 and I have a 2 hour travel time total (round trip) to work. It can make for a verrryyyy long day.

From before I was born until I was 13 my dad worked a swing shift at this plant. His schedule was in two week intervals- 2 weeks on the day shift, then 2 weeks on the night shift. They were 12 hour days too.

    His schedule was:
    Mon: 7pm-7am
    tues: 7pm-7am
    wed: off
    thurs: off
    fri: 7pm-7am
    sat: 7pm-7am
    sun:7pm-7am
    mon: off
    tues: off
    wed: 7pm-7am
    thurs: 7pm-7am
    fri: off
    sat: off
    sun: off

Then the next 2 weeks were the some schedule only he'd work days from 7am-pm.

I haven't had to do those kind of shifts for about twenty years. Which I'm actually quite pleased about.

Ugh! My dad works every shift that you could think of! Whats worse, he changes every week! Example: 2:00 am to 4:30 pm, then the next week from 8:00 pm to 10:30 am. He isn't the only one who suffers from these shifts, he takes it out a lot on me.

I know what you mean by crappy hours, even if I don't work them!
