    Trouble with the Neighbors...

When I got home from work yesterday and took Sasha out into the yard I got the scare/surprise of my life when I came across the neighbors dog in our yard. Their dogs (3) have been trying to get into our yard for quite some time, but this time they've put a hole in the chain link fence. After calming down and having supper I went next door and told the ever so sweet lady the situation. She went on to explain that they're her daughters dogs, etc, etc, etc. Said she'd get something done about it. If she doesn't my hubby is threatening to leave our gate open and their dogs will be on the loose if they come thru the hole and into our yard. I wouldn't mind so much if the dogs weren't so agressive. My Sasha is a sweet old (11) lady who doesn't really need a young, agressive whippersnapper in her yard, let alone 3 of them. I hope the neighbor lady lives up to her promise to do something right away.

Poor Sasha (and you). I hope the lady gets the fence fixed quickly, and does not leave her dogs out unsupervised if they are going to pull the houdini act. What kind of dogs are they? I hope you and Sasha get to enjoy your yard again soon.

Well, I'd had to tell the neighbor lady that that answer is not
satisfactory & doesn't solve the problem. If her daughter is living
there, it's also her responsibility to look after them. She needs to
either call her daughter to come take the dogs home pronto, or
else do it herself. There's no excuse for Sasha not being able to
use her own yard. How in the world did they get through a chain
    link fence?

Poor Sasha, and you! Can't even go into your own back yard.

I would give her a day to get this fixed, then fix the problem yourself, walk over and demand that these dogs are to be taken care of properly or the pound will come, and they will be fined, plus the amount of money to get the dogs back.

Good luck, and I hope you and Sasha can have a peaceful entrance into your backyard soon!

There are 2 Springer Spaniels and a black lab cross (very aggressive).

That's what I couldn't figure out. It must have taken some work to make the hole. If I can get out there tonight I will try to picture it.

I have a springer, as you can see in my siggy, but they can be very agressive. Especially when they are with another springer, they gang up on other dogs (at least what I have heard and seen) and it isn't very pretty.

Jesse and Sally (Rachel, rizzy's dog) have tried to gang up on another dog, but they were both on leashes. I know that Sally isn't a springer, but, she is pretty close to Jesse, and Jes started it.

Now, don't get me wrong, Jesse can be very friendly, when she is not with a dog she knows...Meeting other dogs, she is fairly good at, and can easily get along!

Sorry, didn't mean to post that long, and it really doesn't matter. It was kind of pointless I guess

I hope the problem will get resolved so Sasha can use her yard.

I agree, give them 1 day to get it fixed.. then call the police, tell them there r 3 agressive dogs in ur yard & ur neighbour has let them go there.. I'm sure that'll fix the owner pretty quick.

They've made a temporary fix. Placed a couple of cement (cinder)blocks at the hole. Will have to keep an eye on the rest of the length of fence to see where they tear it apart next. But thankfully Sasha and I were able to be in our back yard last evening without worrying about being snuck up on by those dogs.

Thanks everyone for your comments, suggestions and concern.
