    Lets play a game! Guess how many babies Chloe will have. :)

    Chloe, my female rattie is due to give birth tonight. OK, actually I just checked on her and I think she might be in labor. I gave her some cheese and lettuce right now as a treat as feeding them a little helps kick things into gear. I'll make sure to film the birth too, and put it up on my site so everyone can see the birth if they care to. That is, if I don't end up falling asleep watching her tonight.

    She was bred to a masked lilac merle buck so I should have a litter of all high white babies, all standard ears. Here are a few photos I just took of her. This should make it easier to guess. I'm wondering if anyone will get it right.

    This was taken last night. Her pregnant tum tum.


    Taken about 30 minutes ago.


    In the middle of a contraction.

    That's funny because when I palpated her stomach a bit ago I counted 8, hehe! Though that's just a rough estimate as you can't feel the ones that are hiding under others.

    She did indeed have her babies. Unfortunately I was too tired to stay up, so I missed the birth. I haven't counted yet the babies yet, but I will do that as soon as I get home tonight.
