post neuter activity

I had my three boys nuetered on Tuesday. I called our vet and her move the date 'up' because two of our kitties were (clearing my throat) humping the other two cats. So I thought ohmygosh! I better hurry and get them to the vet before they start spraying. Well, I brought them home yesterday and Gizmo is still 'at it' .
I am wondering if this is an act of dominance? Gizmo and Lenox are the two who have done this to each other and to (poor) Oreo. Oreo is the smallest and most passive of the three. Gizmo and Lenox are both pretty dominant boys in eating and vying for attention as well.
So I thought the nuetering would stop this activity, but I guess I was wrong. Is this normal behavior?

It may not stop the activity but it should over time decrease it and maybe stop it. It will take a little while for all the hormones to level off. When Vixen was spayed she was her wild crazy and aggressive self. It took her a couple of weeks to start settling down. She is now quite calm and much changed from before her spay. Of course she still has her crazy moments. But I think give it a little time and you will see the activities decrease and possibly stop all together.

LOL... I had the same questions! Those homrones will still be in their bodied for weks to come. They may never stop. I have caught Allen doing it several times and he was neutered over 3 years ago, when he was 6 months old. At that point, its a dominace thing. And he IS the King around here.

Thank you I'll just keep my fingers crossed that their hormones will dissipate over the next few weeks. I feel bad for Oreo he seems to be Lenox and Gizmo's most frequent target.

Um... depends on the cats. I once called my vet and asked him if he was SURE he had done his job because the cat was "taking care" of all the girl cats. My vet laughed and gave me some hormones to settle him down, but Panther lived 16 years being a poster child for safe cat sex... Maybe my cats are just a sexy bunch, but they all play at it for what seems like some of the same reasons people do. As everyone here is fixed, I figure it makes them happy and does no harm, nobody fights or forces (and the only one who sprays does it clearly over territory), so what's the problem?

Go figure. Don Juan was just trying to "do it" with Zerlina (who is spayed), and he was neutered more than four years ago! I keep telling him that No Means No, but I guess he just has to live up to his name.
