Breezy is at the Rainbow Bridge...

I am so sad today, because Breezy has passed onto the Rainbow Bridge. She had over 7 seizures in a 4 hour period. We took her to the vet the same day she had seizures, but it was something serious, but they couldnt find out what it was. We took her to the vet today, and they said she could go into a seizure and never come out. We didnt want her to suffer, so we put her down. She is up with my brother now, and he is taking care of her... but it doesnt make it any easier. She was the most wonderful dog. Today, when i have been crying, I could almost swear that i hear her collar jingle, or her nails clicking on the kitchen floor, or hear her growling as a dog passes by. Aunt Jazz's mommy, I feel your pain. We only had Breezy for 10 years, but they were the most wonderful years of my life.

Breezys-mom, I know your pain, we had to put our 15 year old Schnauzer to sleep last year and it was one of the hardest things I had to do in my life. I am so sorry that you had to go through that too. Just remember that Breezy is at the Rainbow Bridge right now and playing with all of our beloved pups who went before her. She is whole and no seizures and having a good time making new friends. Please try to remember the good times that you had with her and that helps, again I am so sorry you lost Breezy.

I am so sad for yet another lover of a wonderful dog. Breezy is without seizures and pain tonight, but our pain remains.
I'm so sorry that you had to make such a horrible decision, but an unselfish one. She is free.

So sorry for you. I know how much you are misssing Breezy tonight. I think Logan said the right words....she is free of pain and seizures - but you still have your pain. You made the right decision and she is free again.

I am so sorry that you lost Breezy

You said that you "only had Breezy for 10 years" but I think 10 years is wonderful and it's a blessing. 10 years is alot of years and Breezy had a good, loving home for all those years. I hope you can heal from this pain soon

    Dear Breezy's Mom

I know only too well the sorrow you are having right now. Many years ago, I had a dog I loved who had seizures. One day when I was at work, someone had poisoned her. The vet saved her life but the side effect was she would go into seizures without notice. By keeping her on medicine, I kept her for several years. Finally, her seizures got more frequent and finally she did like dear Breezy and was having several in an hour. She went into one at the vet's office and died there. I was with her when she went to the Rainbow bridge.

The point of this is I feel you did the right thing letting her go. My dog's seizures would be months apart but if Breezy was having that many, that close together and the vet couldn't help her, it was more loving to let her go.

If you've read any of my other posts, you know I am a firm believer of life after death for pets as well as people. I think our loved ones stay near us when they have passed over. When you think you hear and feel Breezy near you, she is. She is letting you know she is ok now and still loves you. Probably even thanking you for taking such good care of her. Well, I'm crying again. This has been a tough week for Pet Talk pets. You'll be in my prayers.

What a sad way to start the week for some of our Pet Talk friends.
Aunt Jazz, Otis, and Breezy, all gone, leaving behind their loving, grieving families.
As much as we try to find consolation on the thought that there is no more pain at the other side of the Bridge, the pain that stays with us takes longer to go away.
Breezy had ten wonderful years with you; may the happy memories of those times bring you some peace.
    You have our deepest sympathy.

Dear Breezy'sMom....I read your post very, very early this morning right before leaving for work, and couldn't believe that in 12 short hours, two of our "family" had suddenly lost their babies. I was so stunned and heartbroken, I was speechless. Just last night, I was researching seizures in dogs, and was planning on posting some info. for you today. It is still on my clipboard. I wanted to respond to your loss immediately, but did not want to just rush off a brief note. But my motive was also selfish, for at that moment, I did not want to face or deal with the sadness I was feeling. I had to step away for a while. All day, I could not get you and Breezy, or Candy and Kathi and Bob and Jazz out of mind. I too, lost the dog of my lifetime only 3 short years ago, and like you, sometimes I think I hear her distinctive, thunderous rush down the stairs, or her tags "jingling," (her name was Jingles) or her "let me in Mom" yelps. And as much as I appreciated all the words of condolance from well meaning friends and family, I knew that it was I alone who was left to deal with my loss; a loss that is so personal, and a pain that is so deep, that sometimes it feels that there is nothing anyone can say, as hard as they try, to soothe your soul and comfort you. Your wonderful 10 years together with Breezy, though cherished and love filled indeed, were not long enough, were they? My 12 years with Jingles wasn't. No, it is NEVER long enough. But sometimes, it is "time." Bless you Breezy'sMom for being the lovingest of guardains, the best friend possible to your most beloved Breezy. She struggled valiantly, and you responded with incredible bravery. You were there at that one, last moment in her life when she needed you most. And in return, she patiently and lovingly awaits your joyful reunion at the Rainbow Bridge. I hope that knowing that so, so many of us here have experienced the great loss you are feeling, gives you some sense of comfort and strength. As has been said before, God must have needed a very special doggie to grace his Heaven. We celebrate your life, Beautiful Breezy. All my love and sympathys to you and your family. Love, Sandra

I know losing a dog isn't the easiest thing in the world. So my thoughts and prayers are with you breezys_mum. And when your feeling low remember the good times that you and Breezy had together.

When we put her to sleep, she looked in my eyes and it seemed like she was saying "Make it go away mom, make it stop". I think i hear her barking or whining, and everytime something falls over, i immediately think, "Oh no, Breezy is having a seizure" When I am crying, I think "Why don't I go and give Breezy a hug? She'll make it all better" but i remeber I can't. When we went out to eat tonight, we got back and when we walked inside, I expected my little puppy to come running barking and whimpering for us to pet her. Thank you tatsxxx11, for you condolences. We will all miss Breezy, but I have to remember, she is at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other pets, and she is waiting for me to get there.
