Pictures of 1by1 shelter and cats.

I made a difficult desision to take Asper to our shelter building, today. She has been with me since May 2004. She had and raised her babies here. But for the last month or so, she has be SO unhappy. Pumpkin bullies her. Actually, he bullies any cat that he doesn't like (the shy ones, mostly). So, since Asper and I have never really bonded, I thought that she needed a change of environment. Needed to meet some new people. And if she is especially lucky, someone will see her while visiting and fall in love. Please wish her the best.

Here she is in a cat bed at our shelter.

Just before I left she had moved (or been moved by another cat) and I found her laying in another bed WITH another cat. VERY unusual, but it made me feel much better that she was going to be fine.

While I was there I took a few photos.

This is the "foyer" to our shelter. Horribly crowded!! But all the food, water, litter, medicine, supplies, etc. need to fit in here, like it or not.

This is a portion of the room Asper will be in. You can see the shleves for climbing/laying on, a cat tree to the right. What you can't see is there is a loft at the ceiling for more climbing and laying. Problem is, there are 20 cats in this room alone. Really too many. Lots of climbing space but not much floor space. I feel bad that they can't really RUN.

Here is one of Asper's new room mates. When I bent over she climbed onto my back and laid down! I could NOT get her to come off. I need to find out more about her. Maybe she needs to be my next foster.

    more..........

This is a portion of our "big room". This room is half of the shed and houses cats that need space. (you know, like cats that don't really like other cats). It also houses some of the permanent residents. (like those that spray and might never find a home)

Here is a handsome dude on the walk to the loft

And this guy seems quite old. (I need to find out his name)

Here are a couple of cute orangies

That is all. Look closely and you might see a few places that make getting money for a new shelter VITAL to our growth.

All of the kitties are adorable. It is to bad about Asper, but maybe she will be happy there, sounds like she may have made a friend already.

I hope that you will get alot more donations to help them.

What is the address of the website again? Maybe if you post it again, you might get some new donations from those who may have missed it the first time and maybe those of us who have already donated might consider donating again after seeing all those babies in need of help.

Thanks so much kittycats_delight for the beautiful siggy and avatar of my kids!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Asper will get really lucky and someone will give her a furrever home. I'm sure that was a tough decision, but it probably is in her best interest. Less stress for her and probably for Pumpkin, too.

I hope she makes new friends!!!

I went to the website and saw the pix of the shelter. And, I ordered a bracelet ( and sent a small donation).

The gray cat tugged at my heartstrings...we had a gray cat very similar to him. And, I miss my Buzzy!

Jen I can see why you all need a new place. Your shelter looks a lot like ours. There is never enough room and things just seem to always be falling apart. It's so so sad.
The one thing you've got going for your shelter is that the cats aren't caged. I would give anything if they would let ours be cage free! They are all so precious and sweet looking. Poor babies need a home!

I think that "old" kitty needs to come home with you. He needs lots of lovins!
