    just worried....

Well, I am tired, but, can't sleep. Now, on top of being worried, I have a huge headache. My parents are driving overnight from Maine back home. They drove straight through on their way up there, too, but, now, I'm sure they must be more tired, as they've been busy with family. I'm not asking for prayers or anything, just trying to post something and this is what's on my mind. I mean, don't get me wrong, prayers would be nice, and, if you can spare a moment, send out some good thoughts to the road somewhere on the east coast, between maine and me. Hopefully, i'll be dreaming soon.....Good night, everyone....and, thanks ahead of time for those of you who read this and think of my folks. They mean the world to me, and, I just can't be without them for a long time.

I'll definitely pray, Kari. Some may say it's trivial, but you never know. My parents are also not home, they're way up north where its storming and I'm worried about them too, so I know how you feel.

Hey, thanks you guys. It's just I lost my dad to a car accident, it's just always something I worry about. But, you know, going through hard times and losing loved ones......losing friends (not necessarily to death, either)......all this stuff has taught me one valuable lesson. To always let people know how you feel, good or bad, because you just never know. Everyone in my life knows how I feel, the good, the bad, and, the ugly. At least I know that when I go, I'll leave no one behind wondering, with no way of ever knowing, how I felt. Anyway, geesh, I'm so deep in thought tonight.....no wonder I can't sleep.

Don't worry, I feel the same way. I made sure I said "I love you" to Major and gave him a hug and a few kisses tonight. I suppose its not good that this is turning into a 'death' thread, but I just really needed to say that to him since my friend's dog passed away a couple days ago, so unexpectedly.

I'm sorry about your dad. How long ago was that? I'll never understand why people have to be taken from us. Did your mom remarry?

It was almost twenty years ago. He was just about to be 38, I think. My mom had already remarried when he died, though. They were married fifteen years, but, it was the best thing my mother ever did for herself, getting divorced. Don't get me wrong, I love my father and miss him to this day. I passed a place the other day called "bill kirkland" something or other, and, that made me wonder if maybe he hadn't died. It's one of those things, that because I didn't see him (he was cremated) after he died, I always sortof felt like I didn't get closure. And, maybe he's still out there. It's silly, and, I know it is, but, when I see stuff like that, I want to walk in and see if it's him running the place. His name was Bill Kirkland (first and middle names). My step dad is amazing, and, has always been my dad. I just had two for a few years. And, no worries, about the thread kinda going off track a little.

Hey, Maria, I think I'm going to try to go to sleep, now. So, if you replied, don't think I'm ignoring....just going to bed! I'll post tomorrow when my parents return home and I'm done getting tons of hugs.

I'm sorry about your dad, once again. It's good that you did have a 'father' growing up though.

Well, there was really no need to tell me about you leaving, as I was about to tell you the same thing!
    Off to bed for me.

And I wanted to go to bed early tonight...
    Oh well.

    Sleep well!

I'm sorry about your dad I know how you feel though, I'd be so worried too. I made the same drive in dec (only went through SC to florida)..it can be crazy but i guess you won't feel better till they're home no matter what anyone says. I'll keep them in my thoughts though

Hey Kari, Have you heard from Mom and Dad and did you get any sleep? Our thoughts and prayers are coming to you and your parents from Florida. I know how you feel too. Everytime my kids travel 2 miles I have them call me. We'll never stop worrying about our loved ones.

See, all that worrying for nothing!!! That's the way it always is, isn't it? Glad to know that they are home safe. I will look forward to seeing pictures later.
