What a handsome fella! I just love GOLD!
For those who are interested... pink nose, snow nose or whatever you prefer to call it is a result of less sunshine in the winter months. Kind of like the falling leaves. The color is always there but because of cloraphyl (sp) you don't see it until the days are shorter and less sunshine is available. Same with noses on some dogs.
Some people believe you can feed a dog rich in extra vitamins and antioxidents in order to keep the nose black or brown but to a degree all dogs lose some pigment in the winter months. My Dusty has a coal black nose but if I look real close now it has a pink undercast.
Of course the degree of pigment in the dogs nose to start with will determine how much or how little winter nose is noticeable. It also dictates how much the pigment will darken in the summer months. Each year as the dog goes through these cycles the winter nose will become more and more predominant with age.
Thanks for the great explanation, Candy!! Honey and Lilly always go "pink" in the wintertime..........and so far, they are still black. But I'm figuring it is only a matter of time and they'll be pink again for a few months!!![]()
Jack is so adorable!!![]()

Cute pics!
Ok I want somebody to explain Nebo's nose to me then, lol. He definitely has a "snow nose" but it's not the entire nose--he just has a bright stripe down the middle!! The rest of it is the original color!I love it, I wish it'd stay that way all year!
Jack's a handsome boy! I think his nose add's character to an already beautiful face. My Goldie's nose did the same thing. Nothing to worry about!
Oh, how cute!
