    Our trip to Holland: great pics!

    Normally we intended to go to Normandy in France; but as the weather changed this weekend, we headed north to the Netherlands (some call it Holland, but that is just 1 province).
    We went to the island of Walcheren, about 1 hour drive.

    There is a beautiful park, called "Miniature Walcheren". The whole island is re-built there, in miniature. It is amazing how well some buildings are copied!
    This is a general view


    You can compare the size of the buildings to the "real people" you can see walking around. This is Bernard!

    We had a great day! Of course, we finished it with a gorgeous (and huge) ice-cream on a romantic patio . I better not go on that d*** scale for a few days....

    Oh Lut, what a perfect day to see such wonderful sights - right down to the ice cream!!

    Thanks for sharing - that is really interesting. The miniatures are perfect.

    Great pics Lut, I never managed to get to the Netherlands, I always found myself flying to Germany for some reason.

    We love doing things together!! Unfortunately we cannot do this very often, as Bernard has a very demanding job! (he is audit-partner at the Belgian branch of PriceWaterhouseCoopers). But as soon as he has some time off, we try to do something! We don't have completely same tastes, but we match

    Wow! What an amazing park - all those building are so detailed and cool - out of what materials are they made? Someone put a lot of time and effort into that project! Thanks for showing us the pictures!

    When we lived in Germany for three years, we spent many a long weekend up in the Netherlands as it was our favorite destination

    We never went to Walcheren so I really enjoyed seeing all of your pictures of the miniature Walcheren! That "typical Dutch street" was something I also remember because it appears that it has been swept clean - and so perfectly neat!

    I am really glad that you and Bernard had such a nice time and thank you for sharing pictures of your holiday, Lut

    What great pictures! Glad you had a good time! As for the ice cream, you have to indulge once in awhile!!
