The Huntress stalks her prey... pics and video of me

Anyone familier with the Predator movies (Predator, Predator 2, and the recent Alien Vs. Predator) will recognize my latest costume. Andy owns one as well and we are currently putting one together for my dad.

Mine was completed last Halloween, but this Saturday was the first time I could get some good shots of it outdoors.

Kia is well familier with the costumes Andy and I own. Seamus on the other hand, was not too sure.

    Posing

    The back

    Blades extended

    Going in for the kill

Just kidding... trying to get her turned around to pose with me...

    Video:
Seamus was sitting by Andy. If you watch towards the lower left at the beginning of the video, you'll see Kia coming out of the brush with me. She was sitting next to me, bumping against my hand wanting head scritches. *laughs*

I'm grrring really loudly, but I can't hear me on the video...but you can hear Seamus barking back!

    Wow! Neat costume, Kimmy!

For some reason its not letting me view the video, but it may just be my work computer. I'll try again at home.

Wow Kim, that's so cool. Couldn't help thinking how my
pups would react to that. Smokey would have freaked out, and
Maggie would bark her head off. Buddy would have come after
you. The costume looks really good. That is skin covering
    also, isn't it?

Forget scaring the pee out of the dogs - you would have scared the pee out of me if I didn't know it was you!!!

Wow, cool costume though! And you dad gets into it too? How long does it take you to put the entire costume on? Gee, when you and Andy get married you're going to have to get like a 5 bedroom house just so you have enough closet space for all your costumes.

    Thanks all!

The hard armor was made for me using my measurements. I'm wearing a flesh colored body suit that has been airbrushed. Andy made the head and dredlocks, the hands, and feet.

Many different people make certain pieces of the costume. You can find a lot on eBay, either completed or in kit form.

We rushed putting it on because we didn't want to lose the daylight, so we got it on in a half hour. The shin armor is just loosely attached. That's the piece that honestly take the longest because it laces up the back.

The shoulder cannon has a LED light in it and glows red when I push a button.

Gee, when you and Andy get married you're going to have to get like a 5 bedroom house just so you have enough closet space for all your costumes.
    LOL!! Tell me about it.

At first my parents tolerated the costuming, but when Dad found out we had Predator costumes, he said he had to have one.

    Here's Andy in his costume:

That's hilarious! I would pay you SO much freakin' money to come scare the crap out of my husband... his "thing" is aliens, he's scared to death of them. Seeing you standing outside our kitchen window would give him a heart attack. I'm cracking up just IMAGINING it!! LOL

    Great costumes!
