On the "pier" in Ostend (sea)

Yesterday, Monday, was a beautiful sunny day here. As Bernard was able to get half a day off, we just hit the road and drove to Ostend at the Belgian Coast. Ostend has a very special meaning for me. My parents lived there when they got married, got 3 of their kids, lost one son in accident, got house flooded in 1953, etc... . We made a long walk on the "Pier" of Ostend: this is where the port of Ostend opens to the sea. It is about 3 1/2 hour by ferryboat to Dover (England).

    Here are some pics! Enjoy

    Hm, who is that??

Those are great! They make me homesick for Seattle, though!

Thanks for sharing, the beach is my favorite place. That beach looks so much like Santa Cruz.

Lol, my sister and I have the same initials before AND after marriage! ( from L.L. to L.G.). My brothers' names are with H and C (Hendrik and Christian). You have my sisters name a bit wrong: it is LIEVE, which means "sweety"!!! She is a sweetie! Lieve is 7 years older, has 2 married daughters and 4 grandchildren!!

It was great on that pier! The ideal place to relax!!

Aw, thanks!! I did put on lots of weight last year, though .
I love that black skirt! Just one negative point: I cannot afford to touch my cats, or it looks more like a black skirt with white spots!!
Oh well, people are warned then that they are meeting a catmom!!

I love that third one. And your Bernard looks like a very sweet man. Glad you had a good day.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
