I believe this is close to the New Madrid Fault - where the largest earthquake in the United States occurred.
Not sure if that is 100% correct..........but I think so.

I heard about it also although the headlines here were "Illinois residents shaken by Kentucky earthquake!" Almost as if they're blaming KY.They said there were actually two of them, one in the morning that was a 2.7 and I don't remember what the other one was, but I'm sure it's nothing like those in CA.

We went through Mammoth cave a few years back in KY and they were mentioning the fault lines and such that are in the area.
