Hey, furrykittenlover. I was thinking, you know, maybe I should update my post but never got around to it. Thanks for asking. We only lost one of the babies. There was apparently something wrong with her so mom took care of it. We have homes for five of the babies. One of them is the runt and she's a little underdeveloped. She'll walk and it seems as if her back legs don't work right. She keeps falling over on her back. But she doesn't give up. She gets right back up and goes again. It's so neat watching her. I admire her determination. We call her miss shaky. All the babies went to homes where I can receive updates on them. That's nice. If I can't find a home for the last one, we'll just keep her.

The little runt is about two inches long. She's sooooo cute. The other ones are about three inches long. One of them is furrier than the other ones. My daughter calls that one bed head.

The reason that the furry one had gotten bed head is because one night that darn wheel was squeeking and keeping my girl awake. So I got the idea to put some oil on it. Well, apparently during the night when the fluffy one was using the wheel, the oil was dripping on his fur. Once it dried, his hair was all over the place. He definitely had a major case of bed head that morning.

    What cuties!!
    Thanks for the pics!

Our gerbils have never received a cricket as a treat. I've never heard of them liking crickets...think I'd stick with the seeds, nuts, veggies, & fruits!

    RIP Little Miss Shakey 11/9/01-3/28/02

Well, Little Miss Shakey fought long and hard but she had lost the battle last night. We were getting ready for bed and my daughter always gets them and says good night to them. She reached into the cage and got Baby and Little Miss Shakey out. I was making her bed and I heard her say, Mommy, Little Miss Shaky had her one eye half way open and the other one closed and she didn't even move when I got her out of the cage. I turned around and walked over to her. I took her from Bri and told her that she had died. She was so sad. I told her that a boy or girl had died and they wanted a hamster and that God needed a very special one so he came down and took Little Miss Shaky. That made her feel a little better but we sure are going to miss that wiggly, flopping girl.
