how big will he be ?

Hi my dog Blizzard will be 5 months old around July 5 .He weighs about 50 lbs already(Go to vets in morning). He is White German shepherd mixed with a little Chow . Any idea what he may weigh when he is full grown ?

  2. According to this page.. Chow Chows weigh in at 40-70 pounds. so your pooch may not get much bigger then that.

and for Shepherds they weigh in at 77-85 pounds

heres the webpages i got the info off of

if I remeber correctly the rule of thumb is you take the dogs weight at 4-5 months and double it for a rough idea of the adult weight, so your guy may be around 100lbs full grown.

I thought it would be fun to take a guess.
I will say around 85 pounds by the time
    he is 2 years old.
Now you will just have to let us know how
much he weights when he stops growing. lol

okay I will. When I got him at 6 weeks he weighed 7 lbs When he went for his shots at 4 months he weighed 36 lbs. They told me to bring him back around the first of july to weigh him because he gained 14 lbs between 3 and 4 months. He going tomorrow because my daughter called me at work and said he will not keep his eye open.

Puppies double in size from 1 to 2 months, from 2 to 3 months, and from 3 to 6 months. After that, they gain about 20% more body weight. That is a very general rule of course, and doesn't always work. My guess would be around 60-65 lbs.

I would say between 75-85 lbs and at a stretch maybe even 90 but I doubt that big.

My Harlee (large breed puppy) (greater swiss mountain dog) was 36 lbs. when she turned 4 months old...she will max out at around 110...so who knows, i think your dog might get to be close to 100!!

It's just something you'll probably have to wait to see. I know Finn didn't gain hardly any weight between five and ten months, and, he has gained almost 10 pounds in the last few months (he's 18 months old). I want to say he weighed about 35 pounds at four months old, and, he's only just under 60 pounds, now. So, you really never can tell!
