Look what I found-- Part 2

Remember my thread about the birdnest I found?
    Here it was:
    Look what I found!

High time now to give you all an update!!
Here is the nest again; the birdies were already getting flying lessons from their parents!

It was hard, but I had to keep my cats indoors all week, untill all little birds could fly well enough.
One morning, I let Inka out. She rushed right to one spot on the lawn, so I got suspicious and followed her. OMG, she had found a little bird with no tail yet, trying to fly.
I rescued it asap, took a picture ( ) , and put in back in the nest.

My rescue-operation helped!! yippie! Now to large birds fly around with 4 young ones, unreachable for our cats!!

Awww, they're adorable!! And it looks like momma picked a nice, shady spot to build their nest, too!

Right now, we have two nests outside of our door, inside our ficus trees; a sparrow nest on the left and a hummingbird nest on the right. We even got to watch baby sparrows grow up and leave the nest the first time it was built. The second time, though, the mother abandoned the babies, and we found them dead around our lawn because they had tried to fly. Then, another sparrow inherited the nest, and it just left mysteriously one day, didn't even lay eggs. But right now we have a happy mother hummingbird proudly sitting on her teensy nest!

How precious! A job well done in keeping them protected from the kitties until they were raised. I just love that final picture, too cute for words

Aw... That's a great picture. Is it just me, or does his head look a bit to big for his body? hehe. Well done, rescuing (eh, sorry I can't spell) the little guy.

We have a bird nest every year above the same type of light the pigeons are on. It causes a bit of a problem, though, since the light is motion activated. At night, when they fly by it, it turns on and shines right into my bedroom window. *sigh* Good thing they're so cute!

If you'd like a sig, PM me.
