A look at my sister's kitties!

Who's this sneaking in the window...?

It's Oliver! He got this name because when he was little, he was so thin because he'd been a stray and every time my sister would feed him, he'd say 'Please, can I have some more?'
(Sorry about the quality on this one. It was dark and I took it with the night-photo option.)

If that was Oliver crawling in the window, this must him practicing his 'meatloaf.'

Nope! That's Shadow! Shadow's a great cat. He's a senior cat, adopting when he was about seven years old. That makes him ten now, I believe. He's friendly and loves being petted. When he makes 'happy feet' he sometimes drools he gets so happy.

Now, here is Avalanche. Look at those sad eyes! If you didn't know him, you'd think he was a regular little Eeyore.

Another picture of Avalanche. He was my bed-buddy during my visit. Sharing a twin bed with a 16 lb cat was quite an experience! But he's so easy-going he didn't even mind when I accidently rolled over on him.

You can sort of see how big he is in that picture. He's a huge cat. He got his name because so many white kitties are named 'Snowball.' He's too big to be a Snowball; he's an Avalanche!

This is the best comparison that I could get of him. Next time I go, I'll try to get a better one.

    (More on the way!)

This is Julia's special needs kitty. His name is Mudpie. You can see his large sore spot in this photo. He was a stray for years before he came to be Julia's pet and he had a hard life.

Julia has to take extra-special care of Mudpie, like carrying him to the litterbox but even with the extra work he requires, it's worth it because he sleeps in the of her, purring all night. Being special needs doesn't mean he can't love; it just means he holds a special place in his Meowmy's heart.

Oh, I wish they could all be calico girls....Little Sam!

Little Sam is very nawtee! Don't let those beautiful eyes fool you. Her favorite thing is sneaking away and worrying her Meowmy to death. Once she ran out of the house and stayed gone for an entire week! NAWTEE GIRL! She came home safe and sound though and as nawtee as ever.

Julia wouldn't forgive me if I didn't post a picture of Daisy Duke. To make it legit on the cat side, though, you can see Precious in the corner.

Here's a better picture of Precious.

Precious is a spunky girl. She was Julia's first pet and when she was little, she had a habit of attacking that nasty old vaccum cleaner. She and the vaccum may have made the peace now but she's still full of spunk. She fights the Litter Maid now.

    And one more of Precious.

    (Still more coming!)

Who's this kitty? Oliver? Shadow? No, it's...

DOPPIE! This little kitty came to Julia's house not long after Oliver. The only difference between Doppie and Oliver as Oliver's white spots on his tum...and it wasn't long before Doppie started growing one too. That's how he got his name: Doppelganger. But Doppelganger is a big name for such a little kitty so most of the time, we just call him Doppie.

And the last baby girl is Muffin.

She's a shy tortie and I was afraid I wasn't going to get a very good picture of her. I shot this as I was packing up to leave. You can see this silly girl's colors very well in this pic.

Well, it's almost time to go because that's all the kitties. Before I go, though....a little bit better picture of Oliver.

And Avalanche showing off his EKU pride!

    Hope you liked them!

Mudpie doesn't feel very well right now but he's getting better. He's being taken very good care of and he's a happy little mammal now that he has a comfortable inside home and someone to look after him.

    How creative!

They're all adorable kitties. Poor little Mudpie, but it sounds like he's being well taken care of now.

Yes, it is healing nicely. She has to be careful handling him. He is taken clavamox also. It is an antibotic. We think he's older than the vet told us because he is slow and his legs and hips hurt. Julia is careful to make things easy for him like helping him into the litter box and keeping special food bowls next to his favorite sleeping spot.

Cosequin is a "natural remedy" that is said to help older cats with joint problems. It's similar to a remedy that people with arthritis use and they also make it for dogs, horses and who knows what else. I had gotten it for Tubby and it did seem to make him more limber, and I know Catsnclay's Fluffy takes it also and she has said it works for him too, so have your sister check it out. Do a Google for "Cosequin for Cats" It's a little on the expensive side, but not too bad if you get it online compared to at the vet where it down right is expensive.
