    Trying my hand at drawing

I used to draw a lot when I was younger, I got pretty good at drawing something if I had a picture to look at. Lately, due to my increasing problems with wrist and arm pain from doing so much at the computer, I've had to try and find more things to do off the computer when I'm not working. I had an old dog desktop calendar from 2004 with a lot of nice clear pictures, so I picked a couple out that looked easier and tried them. They aren't perfect by any means, but I'm pretty pleased overall considering I haven't really drawn in years. I thought I'd share them.

Here are the pictures I used:

    And the drawings:

Those are really good! I didn't know you had it in you. I hate that you can't come here more. I miss hearing from you. Does writing hurt your wrist? I could send you a note now and then.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Thank you . Like I said, I tried to pick out a couple that looked fairly simple. I have a hard time with head on pictures, trying to make the depth look right, and hairy dogs or wrinkled dogs, but I think if I keep working at it I might get better. It really is a rewarding thing to do. I'm planning to get a photo printer soon and print out some pictures of the T's and Dawn to try.

I didn't feel any discomfort while I was drawing although I might if I had a full day of typing in already. I haven't been working this week because the account I was on ended and I'm trying to get set up on a new one. I don't have any trouble writing really, although my hand cramps up after writing for awhile, probably because I've typed everything for years now and those muscles haven't been used. I really need to stop procrastinating and see the doctor about my shoulders/arms/wrists. I'm such a chicken about going to the doctor for anything. I miss some of my old pastimes on the computer. Working on web pages, posting photos, and posting/reading the boards were always enjoyable and I just haven't been able to do any of that to near the degree I was.
