I wanted to make Abby some bandanas with some cute fabric, but I was just wondering what size material you made them from, what shape to cut them, etc. Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure of sizing, but I wanted to say that it sounds like a fun project -- wouldn't it be terrific to use iron-on prints of our pups on one another's bandanas! Great business idea![]()
I make bandanas for my girls myself. I only need about 1/4 to 1/2 yard for 2 bandanas. My two aren't that big so it all depends on the size of the dog's neck. You can measure around the neck to get a approximate size in inches that you would need for the length. I then just traced out a pattern, a triangle shape and cut it. I had to try it a few times to get it just right, but now Sadie & Maggie have about 20 each, all matching. It was all just trial and error for me until I was satisfied with the sizes. When I make new ones I just grab an old one and trace off of the old one and then I have a new bandana without the hassle of sizing again. I don't know if this helped at all, PM and maybe I can help some more. Here are some pics of the girls with their bandanas.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
I miss you
I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.
Fur as dark as the night.
Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

sometimes I fold over the top and sew it so there is a loop there, then I slide that over his collar.

there is stuff from DRITZ called FRAY CHECK---which you can find at any local fabric store, and ALEENE'S is called STOP FRAY---i'm pretty sure wal-mart has it, white bottle with red stop sign on the label...or you can sew with a straight stitch across the edges and then pink right outside the stitch and it will only fray as far as the stitching, then the little part that does fray will look nice, kinda like fringe.....and as far as iron ons i am working on that now...so much of my sewing stuff is still packed away...did i mention i'm a seamstress....anyway, i'll let you know on that...never thought about putting friends pics on a bandana...how cool...you can PM me with questions, if you think i could help.....![]()
i'll have to try SUKI's idea myself...sorry you may not be able to read the bottom of the card...the color was too light....
