pet rollers? you can buy them at your local pet stores.. they are basically just rollers on handles with sticky paper to pick up the hairs.

Just take a wet sponge and rub it over the couch. The sponge picks up the hairs - at least it does for my cat hair. Luckily, my dog dosn't shed.
I have a suit brush that has like a fabric (lint brush) on one side and a brush (for shoes??) on the other. I took hair from our fuzzy bear of a Chow Chow off of our furniture. StaticGuard sprayed on before trying to use this brush or even a lint brush works well. Even using the spray before vaccuuming with an upolstery brush may help.
Hope this helps you!

We do use lint brushes sometimes, mostly we use a slip cover over the couch that we can take off and wash, maybe thatll help?
I sometimes use fabric softner dryer sheets doesn't get all the hair but picks up lots and makes your furniture smell great!
I just use a wet washcloth and rub the fabric in a circular motion.

I have an attachment for my canister vacuum that does the trick. It's called a power mate.
Why would you want to remove the dog hairs? Your dog spent lots of valuable time sitting, laying, and wallering all over the couch to give it that custom pet hair design.![]()

we have a couple of those aswell. we don't use them on the couch because it's leather, but we use them in the car, on clothes, on the beds and the list goes on. having a sheltie inside means that there is hair everywhare all year round.Originally posted by KBlaix

Those things work if the hair is loose on TOP of the fabric - but I don't want to brush down the couch every day - and the hair works it's way INTO the fabric and doesn't come up easy.
My problem isn't the couch, so much - as we keep large bath towels on the couch and can periodically shake/ wash them. My big problem was the low-pile carpet in my van.... the dog hair is 'barbed' , kinda like a porcupine quill, and so it works into the upholstery and carpet and you can't just suck it up with a vaccuum - it 'hooks' into the fibers!
I picked up one of these a few years ago, and it works WONDERS -

you can find them here -

and the best thing is no refills to buy, and if it starts to get dirty, you just wash it with soap and water.
this thingy 'grabs' the hairs and pulls them free from where they've woven themselves into the fibers of your furniture and carpet. It works kinda like a squeegee on a window - I just 'scrape' the fabric with one hand, and suck up the loose hair with the vaccumm or dustbuster in the other hand!

Thanks, Amanda, for the wonderful siggy and avatar!
Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace.
