Sahara update :( :( :(

Thought I would update everyone about Sahara. Her spay surgery was on Wednesday...along with her eye surgery. Her eye is doing great, but her incision from the spay isn't.

I think we gave her just a little too much freedom yesterday when we were working out in the yard. She is in a lot of pain today, shivering and not eating, unable to go to the bathroom because of the position, and what we think is fevered. We called our vet and they gave us another prescription of her pain meds, but I think there is more to it than that. Her incision is so big and so tender b/c of her size...we just let her loose to soon

Please keep finger crossed and some prayers that she'll feel better and get some food in her belly. She won't even eat the good wet stuff.... We'll be off to the vet in the AM if she is no better

Poor baby. I sort of know how she feels. After my hysterectomy, I over did it one day and I felt like CRAP. I was the same way, shivering and felt like I could pass out for hours. I certainly hope that's all it is with Sahara. Will keep her in my thoughts.

UPDATE..........

She went to the vet this AM and is spending part of the day with them. She threw up last night and was still very weak this morning.

They did a CBC and cytology on her incision....I haven't gotten the results of the CBC yet, but the cytology shows bacteria So she has and infection. We figured that she is getting sick and can't heal right because her immune system is still off from when she was a puppy. So she'll be coming home with antibiotics and more rest
