    Cat Training II

A friend of ours is training her cat to do tricks. Here are some new tricks Faramir, a Ruddy Abyssinian, has learned

An earlier post on this topic is: Cat Training

The sequence: Faramir is instructed to put his paws on the ball, then to stand with his front paws on it, then wave with one or the other paw (on command as to which one), then to get onto the ball and finally to stand on his hind legs while on the ball. A very trusting cat!

Too cute! Too bad it isn't a crystal ball in that second pic! That kitty looks like he could tell our fortunes! and the last one is absolutely amazing! What a good kitty!

Oh my gosh! This is simply awesome! I would never have thunk a cat could do something like this, and I have 3, these are truly amazing photos. Like everyone else, mine know all these tricks that include eating, playing with furry stuff, and waking meowmie up in the middle of the night, and that's about it!

That Faramir is SOOOO beautiful and amazing

I wrote in to a forum called "Think Like a Cat" to ask about problems we were having with Lizzie (acting feral, etc) and the behaviorist there - Pam Johnson-Bennett, suggested that I try some clicker training with Lizzie and recommended the book "Clicker Training for Cats" by Karen Pryor. I bought a clicker with the best intentions but it is still in the kitchen drawer
But, I thought I might mention this book as it may be easy to find.

YES, I think there is a basketball around here somewhere. I will be back with pictures by this evening I am sure

Pardon my French Madam, but that is one Hail of a group of pictures!! I know all my neighbors heard me yellin " OH MY GOD!" "OH MY GOD!", "OH MY GOD!" (with every picture!) I have GOT to save some of those, NOBODY will believe this! (note to self: save and BURN TO A CD RIGHT NOW!) Those are simply AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!

so much for me wanting to brag about Rhonda teaching Dusty to "sit", "shake hands" and "up"...

This is AWESOME as all get out!

I know that Abys must have the most amazing little brain and heart (miniaturized but excellent quality)- but this tops it all.

We have been threatening to send Mango to the "Swiss Finishing School" so he can learn some skills. He's an entertainer at heart. When guests are over he has to be the center of attention - as is normal for Abys - it would be nice if he'd do some amazing tricks too!
