Lap cats!!

We all love cats around here ! What I would like to know: is your cat a lap-cat? If yes, when does he/she do it?
If no, is it really "never", did she/he ever do it?Please, post pics as a proof!

I asking this because something happened here today!! Inka is not a lap-cat at all. She allowes you to pick her up, and she will even start purring. But don't try to sit down with her !!
Today, while I was watching "neighbours" on tv, she suddenly jumped on the couch next to me, and then.... she jumped on my lap!! What a miracle !!. She even stayed there 5 long minutes, while I was petting her. Luckily my daughter Indra was watching tv too, so she could grab the camera and take a pic to proof this to my hubby . ( AND all PT-ers )

I guess you could say these guys are chest-lap cats. On my chest is Smokey, then Mystic and then Abner.

Ok, two distinctions of lap kitty in this house - Pouncer LOVEs to be held and cradled like a baby. I consider this lap kitty-ness.


then there's Abby who jumps up in my lap every night while I'm on the computer (and ONLY then) and sits there purring her head off for as long as I'm willing to sit there.

Oh I wish I had a Lap Cat Blueberry has never been one

But there was ONE time when he slept on my lap for quite a long time. I have no idea why though lol. But that was the only time.

I forgat to mention that Maya lays on my hubby's lap EVERY evening while he is reading the newspaper or a book.

Momma's boy Robbie is my most consistant lap-kitty. He will join me if I am watching TV or sitting at the computer most of the time.

Sometimes I will have my lap full - usually if I am covered with my fleece blanket. I think they are sitting on the *blanket* though - because Eliot and Lizzie rarely sit on laps but here they are...Squeezing in with Robbie:

Emily is hopelessly a daddy's girl but she is also a sweetheart and gets in my lap - but only if daddy is not home.
Dylan has never been in a lap I don't think. He is always nearby - in the room or at my feet - but never in my lap. He is actually our friendliest cat - the official greeter and inspector - yet keeps his distance as far as snuggling and cuddling. The most I can do is pet him briefly and schmoozle his belly if he is sleeping

Zam was never a lap cat at first, then one day, while I was watching TV, she came over and curled up for a few minutes.

Now, just about anytime I sit on the couch, she'll join me for a little bit. It's really funny when I get home from work and sit to take my work shoes off, Zam will curl up in my lap, and Kia will be whining wanting to go out, but I can't dare disturb Zam!

Logan will curl up next to me, but not on my lap.

Sadly no pictures since I live alone.

I'll try to get pictures, but the camera always seems to be across the room when Zam decides to be a lap cat.
