    Plant help

I have about as much of a green thumb as my dogs do, so I need some help, please.

I picked up a small basil plant today that has been hydroponically grown. It has it's roots, with a little sponge like thing that the roots are coming out of, and I'm wondering how to make it grow. Can it go in dirt or does it go into water?

    Help.

You can - and probably should - plant it in dirt. Get some good "potting soil" unless you know your "yard dirt' is good at growing things. Bury the roots entirely, and make sure to keep the soil moist for a few days as it "Settles in."
