Farmer delivers calf and baby
An Australian dairy farmer helped deliver a calf and his own baby daughter on the same night.
First, Andrew Sartori rushed to the rescue of a calf that almost suffocated during birth, reports the Herald Sun.
Hours later, wife Heather went into labour and, in just two hours, gave birth to their daughter in the bathroom.
"It was so quick that I didn't have time to get panicked," he said. "It happened so quickly - it still doesn't feel real."
The speedy delivery left no time for the Sartoris to drive to a hospital from their home in Garfield, Victoria.
But with the help of his mother-in-law and a paramedic on the phone, baby Erica was safely delivered.
Mrs Sartori said: "I think he did a wonderful job. We didn't even have time to boil the water!"
And the newest addition to their dairy herd is also fighting fit and recovering well from its dramatic birth.
