where does your dog ride in the car?

sassy rides in my lap.it is sooooo funny because she thinks she weighs like 5 pounds when she really weighs 45 pounds! if she get up and steps on me it hurts expecially if we are turning! but i love her anyways!

My dogs go in the very back of my mom's SUV but if we take my Dad's car they go in the back seat.

We use to haul the hounds in our Sportage with the back seats folded up. My husband bought me a truck a couple of months ago and we put a canopy on it so that is the dog hauler now.

Sometimes Snowy rides in my lap or she looks out the window. My dad made one of those doggy seatbelts, so she doesn't get thrown around the car if we stop fast or are in an accident.

My dogs always rode in the front seat right beside me..............until..................

There was a very serious accident on one of our highways years ago. A dump truck plowed into the back of a station wagon. The only fatality in the accident was the golden retriever who had been sitting in the front seat. He went thru the windshield.

I went out and bought a seat belt for my dog the next day, and now that I have an SUV in training, I have a dog bars separating the very back from the back seat and that' where my dogs ride.

Merlin starts in the back but if I get out ,he's not there when I get back. He thinks he gets to drive.

All 5 want to be in my lap, which isn't possible if I'm driving with all of them. If I have all of them I put them in the back seat and put a blockade up to keep them back there.

I chose in the back, but the real answer is in the trunk. LOL
Ok I'm only partially kidding. I keep my back seats folded down so my dogs have the whole back area (including the trunk) to ride in. I like to let them in and out of the trunk just to see the reactions on people's faces. LOL

When somebody else drives the car, Snowy sits on my lap. When I drive the car myself and no other passangers in the car, Snowy sits by herself with harness on.

    thanks k9krazee for the signature!
