    Ozzy off leash!

Yesterday I took Ozzy, Mac, Goldie and the neighbor's dog, Daisy for a walk. Daisy is not in these pics. Goldie hates Daisy & Daisy was smart enough to stay right beside me the whole time.

It was the first time Ozzy had been off-leash. He did great! He was thrilled to be able to run and wrestle with his brother.

Wooo HOO, let's go. Goldie is ready to run!

Really, No leash? COol!!! Happy Ozzy.

And my brother is coming too! THis is great!

We walked down to a small lake about two miles from my house. Mac & Ozzy acted like they had never seen an open space before.

They had a great time running on the ice.

    I'm gonna get you, Mac!

Goldie tried but her stubby little legs just won't let her keep up!

    She had fun anyway.

Ozzy coming back for a treat.

Now I am done hogging the board and am off to walk some other dogs!

The ice on that lake goes out in late April. It should be safe to go on for a couple more weeks. Then it gets too soft, but the whole lake is still covered. Most of the lakes here never get warm enough to swim in, but some of the smaller ones are warm enough for a dip in mid-July.

The snow stays in some areas til late May.

Our daytime temps are usually close to the freezing mark right now (0C/32F) but it still goes to -20C at night. (-4F)

What happy dogs! I never tire of you "hogging" the board. You lead a life I would love so I live vicariously through you. Hope you take more pics on your next walk.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
