    Aphrodite molted!!!

OMG I am so excited! I was not expecting this to happen tonight at all! I opened up the tank to put some fresh water in and at first thought she was dead, BUT...it was her shell thingy instead. I looked up at the top of the tree and was like..."Oh my God!". I was so excited. Really, you don't understand LOL. She is BEAUTIFUL!!! She is a lot bigger, and just oh so gorgeous!

    Her shell

    Her and Geicko chillin

She still has a piece of her old head stuck to her so I'm hoping by tomorrow morning it will be gone.

I can't help it though, it just gives me the creeps!...LOL. Sorry I don't mean that in a bad way.

I sure am learning alot about peoples different pets and I find it fascinating.

Give that creature a little scratch from me

Wonderful! How adorable in her white just-molted colour. She must only be a few months old then as I don't think that kind sheds as adults at all.

I am so ignorant when it comes to this kind of pet, Cass. Is this the Cockroach? And now she has wings???? I try, I really try, but I can't imagine having a pet like this! Inform me as much as you can! LOL!!! I swear, I do remember that saying about "to each his own". And what pleases one might not please another.

Yes, she is a Giant Cave Cockroach. They can live for several years after their last molt. She is now an adult, and will no longer be molting.

When I expanded the screen I could see the eye. Has Aphrodite gotten any darker yet?
