    Question What is she doing?

    Lexi as a normal terrier, loves to play. But she likes to pull on pants and such and wiggle around on her back. But, sometimes when I stick my foot out, she pretends to bite it and then she'll turn around and force her butt over my foot. Then she'll sit there until I tell her to get off.

    That didn't bother me, but now its getting excessive. And she is starting to manuver herself to put my foot up, well, ya... and then she'll start making noises.

    Whats going on?

    hehehhehe... mommy created a monster girl... shes demanding your attention....... letting her bite,, or even pretend bite ANY part of a human is wrong in my opinion... perhaps giving her a teddy bear to beat up and love up might be a good diversion instead of your pants and foot...

    Its not the biting I'm worried about. And if we do give her a stuffie, well um,,, thats gone in 2 minutes, literally! Its just what does she want with my foot, and why is she trying to stick it up, well you know where! But ya, I just don't know why!

    She sits (she trys to move on our armsonly when playing though) but she wiggles her butt back and forth and backs up into my foot. Shes so weird!

    hm... sounds wierd... female dogs can be VERY strange though. She could be dominating you. My sisters Chi will hump anyone who sits/lays down on the floor.

    is Lexi spayed?

    Lexi isn't spayed...yet...we are going to get her spayed soon. But she hasn't gone into heat yet. And is that something I should be worried about?

    As for this behaviour she started when she was around er...4 months old.

    Puppies can start doing the "dominance hump" as soon as they can walk. I don't believe she's doing it for....sexual reasons....LOL.

    Sexual play is very closely linked to dominance. The most important issue here is your reaction to her behaviour. Ignore her, don't look at her, talk to her or acknowledge her in any way when she does this. If she starts to pull on your clothing stop whatever you are doing, cross your arms, turn your back on her and look at the ceiling until she stops. With the foot thing, ignore her, stop any contact with her and either stand up and cross your arms and look at the ceiling or simply pull your foot into the chair/sofa you are sitting on. Ignore her until she has settled down and is lying down away from you - trust me, she will get bored of pestering you...eventually....if you give her no reaction. Without the reaction from you there is no point in carrying on the behaviour.

    WARNING - it will get worse before it gets better! If you ignore her she will try harder for a reaction before giving up so you have to be strong for a couple of days. Even when the behaviour begins to subside she will occasionally try it to see if it has a chance of working again - be prepared!

    I certainly would like to know the outcome. It has happened with my females in the past and they were broken of it by ignoring them and mine were spayed!! Keep us posted!!

    I said it would get worse before getting better - a behaviour that has always gotten attention is difficult for a dog to understand why it has stopped working. They try harder with it before they realise that you are going to ignore it whatever! Don't forget that even a sideways glance or sigh is enough to reinforce the behaviour.

    I also agree that it is a dominance issue.
    You should make sure and get Lexi spayed BEFORE her first heat.
