The new dog beds today (pics)

I am a glutton for punishment......I keep thinking that they are old enough to handle comfortable beds and not tear them up. This is the bed I bought at Target about 3 weeks ago. If you look closely in the upper left hand corner of the first picture, you can see the destruction that has started on Murphy's bed as well. LOL!!! Lilly and Mimi look so cute, I can't fuss too much.......

Those pics are just too cute! They look so comfy.

I am wanting to get Katie and Tori new beds so bad. They have destroyed any beds that they have had in the past. I keep thinking they would really like to have one now and would take care of it. Do you think I'm just fooling myself?.....lol

Yep, Robin, sad to say, but you probably are! LOL!!!

What I need to remember is that I need to spend the extra dollars for a heavy duty bed and not settle on the cheapies....although none of them are cheap. The one you see in the picture was a Woolrich bed, so soft and comfy, that I got at Target. It was $34, pretty good for such a large bed. It lasted 3 weeks, I think, although they had torn into it before today. That's why that grocery bag is in the corner, full of stuffing! LOL!!!

The best bed we have gotten came from Duluth Trading Company. It is waterproof (good for Murphy and her bladder problems), and it was made of heavy duty canvas, which meant that the chewers (not Murphy) couldn't destroy it easily. I think I would come out cheaper replacing with one like that again, but they are like $70 and it just kills me to spend that much!

Aww it's so cute to see a dog and cat snuggling together. Too bad the bed didn't last long!

We went through a multitude of beds and finally ended up with sheep skin rugs.

    Further destruction

Came home, mid-morning, to pick up something I had forgotten.....maybe I had a sixth sense that I needed to check on things. Look what I found. All 4 were inside because it is rainy, cold and some sleet, so Honey and Zipper, who usually go outdoors in the morning, were inside. Honey had foam all over her chest. GUILTY!!!!!

Here's Lilly in the "new arrangement":

And poor Murphy who is NOT guilty and is the one who needs a soft place most of all

I have a dog bed idea that I'm going to try pretty soon. Every spring our town has "Spring Fling", when we can put furniture, etc., on the curbs for the trash men. I'm going to drive up and down the streets looking for good sofa cushions and cover them with an appropriate fabric.

The reason I'm doing it is because sofa cushions are much thicker than any dog beds I can find. But - if you did something like that and the dogs tore it up, no biggie because it was free anyway! You could pick up several and not even bother covering them!

    Thanks for the siggy, Lexi_Lover!

Oh goodness! I was going to comment on the first pic about how the damage wasn't TOO bad and they were probably just fluffing it to get it just right.

    Then I scrolled down.

    Oops.

Maybe some day you'll find a bed they'll like.

To sleep on that is, not eat.

Lily and Mimi are adorable though!

Oh my goodness that picture of Lilly and Mimi is sooo cute. I know you can't possibly be mad at them. Lilly always seems to be the one that is one the bed though...hmm...too tired after playing with the bed?

No angels, probably, but bored dogs, for sure. We went from beautiful 77ยบ weather to 30's, during the day.......and rain. They looked at those beds at wonderful stuffies, I guess!
