Is your dog safe at the shelter?

Watching the animal cops show yesterday I was thinking about how unsafe my dog would be if she got lost and was found by a shelter. First off, she has an extreme phobia of cages and will fight and struggle and bark the entire time (grounds for euthanasia in almost all shelters). If the evaluated her for food aggression she may fail because when you stick your hand by her she swallows her food whole (often mistaken for agression in which case they would provoke her until she snapped). I guess she'd be safer lost in the wild than found in a shelter. If she was ever lost I'd first go to ever shelter in the area and post signs all over their walls. I guess I shouldn't be thinking so much when I watch these shows. I saw them put down a healthy dog that refused to eat any of the types of dog food offered, but they never did use the methods advised by behaviorists when dogs become picky eaters, and they never tried canned food. I'd have taken the dog and fed her a canned diet if it meant she could live. Also, I'd take a food aggressive dog, I'd feed them in a kennel run, there is no reason to immediately put down a friendly but food aggressive dog. I know I should stop watching these shows.
Anyway, here's stats for euthanasia at my local shelter, my dog wouldn't make it.
43 had bitten; 25 were vicious; 5 were nipping and growling; (42 had severe separation anxiety); 58 had indiscriminate elimination; 196 were unsocialized; 13 were not using the litter box; 170 were spraying; 86 were dog, cat or food aggressive; 33 were uncontrollable; 315 were dangerously unpredictable; (103 experienced kennel or cage regression).

Mine would probably be put down too.

    Both dogs would be terrified.
They would be scared and confused in a shelter.

Seeing all three of them came from the shelter, and are a lot better then they were when we first got them, I think they would be safe.

    They'd be scared, but safe.
Nala would probably do best. We haven't had any aggression towards people or other dogs (unless food is involved w/ other dogs) with her.

Kiara would be scared out of her mind. She can't stand to be away from me, but then again she's gotten a lot used to new people than she was when we got her. It doesn't take her nearly as long to get used to someone as it did when we first got her.

Simba is the only one I would worry about. Maybe i'm just paranoid because of his past (he used to be really bad) and I know i'm silly for feeling that way. He's extremely changed over the years and has a lot more tolerence towards other people and dogs... infact, it's usually him I think is going to have a problem with something and he turns out to be completely fine with it!
