I had them a few years ago. We kept ours in an aquarium. They thrive on Ivy so if you have any in your area pick a bunch and keep the supply replenished. Also mist the tank frequently.

That's an Inidan walking stick. I've had those in the past, but currently only have one walking stick, an Australian Walking stick. They are also called stick bugs, leaf insects etc.

I'm attaching a picture of mine. Be careful if you get an Inidan. You could wind up with TONS of babies!

Actually their supposed to be fed a diet of Bramble and Rose leaves, and some even like Eucalyptus, such as the one I currently have.

Edit: Just wanted to say they *can* eat Ivy, but it's been shown they do better on Bramble and Rose, instead of a diet of only Ivy. Though, I guess it's be OK as a treat or something.

Hmm. Maybe we had a different kind of stick bug but they sure did like their Ivy. Thanks.

Well they will still eat it of course! I've had many different types. Though the most common type found in pet shops is the Indian Walking Stick, which is what the photo is of. Is that what you had?

You didn't know it was a walking stick? You said you did.

"here is a pic for those of you that don't know what they look like"

As Leah said though, if you do get one make sure to mist the tank as that is how they drink their water. =)

Stick bugs and walking sticks are the same thing. There are just different kinds.
